I just got a notification that someone put a heart on one of my posts. But when I view the post again I see no indication of such. I have noticed this a few times now. I'm sure I used to.
I noticed that I am getting batched notifications now ("<user> liked <number> of your posts") which did not happen prior to today, so presumably there is a new version, and maybe there's a bug in it in particular.
Two possibilities that come to mind.
- First, I think Iāve recently had a case myself where clicking on a new like-notification the like itself wasnāt visible until I refreshed the website.[1]
- Second, if someone likes your post and then removes the like again (which is possible within 10min on URLO), I donāt know if the notification stays. It thatās it though, it would be weird if it happened noticeably more often than before.
Those should have existed for a while already
Out of curiosity, looking at the settings, it seems the default is that this happens for 3 likes in 120 minutes. (And has been like this since 16 Jan 2019.)
I have no idea though why that would happenā¦ Also Iām not sure whether that only happened to me when clicking a notification about a like in the same thread I had already open, in which case I guess it would be understandable how an outdated like counter/indicated can still be present. ā©ļø
I've definitely seen this lately. It includes when I'm not on that topic. Some sort of jank caching by my browser (Firefox latest), the forum, or the interaction between the two, I assume.
Just confirmed on mobile for this post (thanks for the like ). Was on the main page after some other topic, got here via notification link via profile pulldown. Same session/tab as when I made the comment.
Yay! Now I have two likes on my first post here.
But, only one of them has been notified to me...
Ah, wellā¦ multiple likesā¦ you can also influence something about that in your user settings, which you could change here:

Of course, regarding your experience of like notification, I canāt promise that you arenāt experiencing anything beyond the intended behavior of the āfirst time ā¦ and dailyā setting ā but at least it seems like a possible explanation for what youāre describing.
You are right. Well I never. I had not looked into any of those settings.
