Tutorial Instructor Volunteer for DevPulseCon 2020

Greetings!

I am seeking a volunteer instructor and a TA for a 3-4 hour "Intro to Rust" tutorial at our conference DevPulseCon on April 18, 2020 in Mt. View, CA.

Benefits of Volunteering at DevPulseCon

  • 2 day pass for April 17-18, 2020 which includes food/drink, technical talks, panels, happy hour etc.

  • Resume building opportunity to contribute to a non-profit with the goal of up-skilling technical women
  • Instructor gift from conference (TA's get a gift as well)

What we need in the tutorial (Duration: 3.5 - 4 hours)

  1. Intro level tutorial on Rust for experienced, professional software/hardware engineers who are womxn
  2. Tutorial should cover the basic constructs of the language with short exercises (we have examples we can share once accepted)
  3. Tutorial curriculum and pre-requisites should be created and available by March 20, 2020 to share with attendees
  4. Class size varies from 50-100 depending on attendance. We will handle all networking aspects and will have our own router etc.
  5. We share all our tutorials on our Github repo post conference (FYI)
  6. Bonus if you have already delivered tutorials before and have links to past experience instructing
