Status of z/OS port

I saw https://www.reddit.com/r/rust/comments/8w9xjq/rust_on_zos/ but so far no definite answer was given, so asking here now. Is anything changed since? Are there any plans to improve?

IBM recently released their own C/C++ compiler suite, and new version is based on the Clang/LLVM it seems. So the port in fact might be easier than before. Moreover, you can send them a suggestion to sponsor this work through BountySource platform.

There is a IBM-sponsored work of Bountysource for PowerPC platform, but seems no such thing for the zOS.

I created an issue in the Rust repository to track this.
