Is there a way to enable confirmation before creating new topic?

I have yet again posted my question mid-writing it by mistake (I pressed tab and then miss-clicked). So I had to delete previous topic, create a new one (with different title) and finish writing it. And if I remember correctly I've seen that some other users had similar problems (deleted posts, and shortly after published new ones with similar title). Is there a way to enable some sort of confirmation prompt before posting? Or maybe to temporarily hide new post to edit it before re-publication? I think it would be beneficial site-wide, but if that is impossible, can I at least configure it for my account?

i feel the pain - a workaroud i have found over the years is to "prepare" ALL of my topics/responses for non-chat content in separate/standalone text editors and copy in on finish (be it notepad/vscode/whatever) - due to several wide-spread tools like ticketing systems, discuss forums etc being a bit too light-triggered for my taste

Maybe one workaround could be to write the title last? Discourse doesn’t accept new topics without a title.

As in: write down the title you want your post to have in the main text area, too; and only move it into the title field once you’re actually done.

I learn a lot, and forget a lot. I may learn and forget more than anybody I know.
Today I learned if I click the ellipsis (show more) there is a red trash can to delete my posts.

Was that always there? I remember not being able to delete a post and having to edit it instead. ......

It was always there.

The self delete button disappears after 60 days (setting delete_user_max_post_age) or as soon as anyone replies to the first post of a topic.
