Since one week or so there's an external dependecy to discourse-cdn.com which my NoScript blocks per default. Without that the page is completly white.
Any reason why? I think there must have been a discourse update. Any rationals for that? Is that hardcoded into the discourse source? Why not RIIR?
The Rust forums are hosted by Discourse so it doesn't seem too surprising that it loads assets from the Discourse CDN?

Discourse is open source; a search of their commit logs/issues/PRs will likely answer this question.
