pixels
0.8.0 has been released today. It provides a tiny hardware-accelerated pixel frame buffer.
The highlight of this version is initial support for web and Raspberry Pi 4 platforms. Our web example provides a minimal starting point for building your emulators, pixel art games, and software rasterizers for web browsers. Special thanks to MarkAnthonyM for their contribution to this effort!
This release is a departure from earlier releases, which have traditionally followed the wgpu
release cycle. There are some breaking API changes, but wgpu
is not one of them. See the release notes for full details.
If you are using pixels and would like to support its development, please consider becoming a sponsor. Your sponsorship will support development of the pixels
crate itself, as well as games and utilities. Every little bit helps.
