What do you think about less code? - Let's cut off the Semicolons!

Why semicolons?

Many modern programming languages don't require semicolons to delimit statements, I wonder - why does Rust? I know that Rust's syntax is already significantly better than systems languages than other systems languages that do require semicolons such as C++, but semicolon-free syntax can often be more readable so I'm sure there must be some reason why Rust requires them.

Python-like syntax for Rust

im coming from python (like most people here) and im constantly disappointed by how the code looks and how it behaves. i obviously talk about the use of : '{' '}' and ';' is there a way to change the theme to look like python (without {};)? I believe that the compiler (with few adjustments) can translate the code the same ether way so i dont see why not.
