Currently all threads are auto-closed after 3 months since the last reply. But there's years-old threads which was made before this hook was set and new people regularly add replies on them. This is annoying. Maybe we can run one-time script to close all those threads?
I definitely wouldn't mind.
I believe internals.rust-lang.org did this, and the only issue was that old private messages ended up closed as well, and that confused some bots: https://internals.rust-lang.org/t/discobot-seems-confused-by-the-locked-private-message/11826.
If we avoid closing private messages, I think this would be a great thing to do in users.rust-lang.org as well. It'd just need to be a one-time thing, right? Close all threads whose last reply was before we implemented that hook.
