Help me with crates recommendation for my project

Hi, the short story is that I want to make a inventory web page in rust and I want to ask you ¿what would be your preferred/recommended crates?

I do believe though that a longer explanation can be useful with the recommendations so here are some requirement and context.

  • I am making this to help a family member with their inventory problem on their small business.
  • It's planned for a small amount of users (3 persons with either PC or smartphone).
  • It should be cheap to maintain, partly the reason I'm sticking with rust (but also because I want to program in it more).

Recommendations on the architecture, other pieces of software, or even an open source solution to this problem are also appreciated. I don't think I can recommend a paid solution (big reason why I decided to help this way) but if you want to recommend me one I can take a look.

Many thanks in advance

Axum is the most popular crate for HTTP APIs.

For a small project like this, perhaps SQLite would be the best way to persist data. Rusqlite has worked well for me.

I do my recent web development in Rust using CGI. Any web server supporting CGI will work. I use simple HTTP written in Rust. Since it's CGI, two crates can be helpful

  1. Simple Web for basic CGI machinery
  2. SimJSON for JSON parsing

Here is a simple web application. Using CGI is beneficial because your web application loosely coupled with a web server. You can use, for example, Apache for the purpose. CI/CD is also possible and you do not need to restart a web server for any application change. Anyway, there are ton of technologies and different frameworks. Select any you feel most comfortable.
