Continuing the discussion from What's everyone working on this week (7/2016)?:
I loved what @sgrif said in New Rustacean about putting more focus on Rust’s type system over its low-levelness. Does anyone have any thoughts on Rust as a higher-level language; defining and implementing business logic for end-user applications in Rust? Where performance might not be the primary quality attribute?
I like the idea of having a lot of room to move as far as performance is concerned. So instead of always trying to hit the bottom of the sea in terms of performance, being comfortable that you’ll get a reasonably well-performant product because Rust introduces very little of its own overhead.
