I am an aspiring musician who started learning C++ to contribute to https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore and now the programming bug (no pun intended) has bitten me. I was drawn to Rust because of its dual claims of fast and safe code. I had to see that in action, because normally you can get only one at a time. I am loving the idea that I, as an amateur, can write programs dealing with low-level memory management like in C, but not be scared of security bugs or segfaults.
