There was a topic that came up in one the servers I frequent that all good projects have an Excel spreadsheet behind them. Can any of the developers of the rust language confirm or deny whether or not they used Excel spreadsheets to aid in the creation of the language
This would include things like using it for timekeeping or managing billable hours Etc
Rust is an open source language developed by many people with they own workflows. For example, if a compiler contributor privately used a spreadsheet for their own Todo list, does that count?
More over, Rust was a Mozilla project, with Mozilla employees doing a whole lot of the work.
At some point some of that work probably ended up in some spreadsheet due to some internal tracking.
Edit: I won't speak for "Excel" specifically though, it's most likely Google Spreadsheet.
Also the yearly Rust survey used to be done using Google Forms, with results ending up in a Google Spreadsheet.
Also also: I used to organize the Rust All-Hands and some of that definitely ended up in a spreadsheet. So did the schedule planning for it.
