njn (on IRC) or nnethercote on GitHub for outstanding work on compiler perf. They've removed an allocation during HashSet creation, made TypedArena lazily allocate the first chunk, and more. They also have helped with adding a benchmarking script to compare two different compiler versions against the benchmarks in http://perf.rust-lang.org, which helps future work in this area.
