I’m thrilled to announce the third issue of “This month in rustsim” which gives an overview about what happened within the rustsim github organization during last month. You will find the December blog post there: https://www.rustsim.org/blog/2019/01/01/this-month-in-rustsim/.
tldr: this last month was mostly about (the first three items will be released in crates.io February 3rd 2019):
- Our ongoing works on the support for deformable bodies (aka. soft-bodies) on nphysics (nphysics2d and nphysics3d crates) is basically done.
- We added support for 2D and 3D heightfields (aka. heightmaps) and capsules on nphysics.
- We added new indexing methods to nalgebra so you can use ranges to specify which (contiguous) rows and columns are to be retrieved in a slice.
- We added several variants of perspective and orthographic projection matrices to nalgebra-glm to ease working with DirectX as well as OpenGL.
This month’s issue also discusses our goals for the year 2019. See the complete blog post for details.
