Stepper (formerly known as Step/Dir) is an interface for controlling stepper motors. It abstracts over stepper driver and motion control chips, providing a unified API on top.
I've just published the announcement for Stepper 0.5. Highlights in the new version include a new name and a high-level motion control API. More details in the announcement: Stepper 0.5 (formerly Step/Dir)
