[Solved] How can you list versions with cargo --list?

#1

I may be missing something obvious, but I’m wondering what command to send to cargo to get a similar output like pip list from Python:

$ pip list
beautifulsoup4 (4.5.3)
Django (1.10.5)
...

When I run cargo --list I don’t get the versions that are installed:

cargo --list
Installed Commands:
    bench
    build
    check
    clean
    clippy
...

I’d like to see at a glance what versions of clippy and rustfmt are, for example. I couldn’t find anything in the --help.

I think you’re looking for cargo install --list.

cargo --list lists the available cargo subcommands, not the installed crates.

Exactly what I was looking for, thanks!

I you want to check if there is any new version and update them, you can use cargo install-update.
