Rs_pbrt v0.7.0 adds some procedural textures and needs your help

In the release notes I mention the plan to render Pixar's Universal Scene Description [USD] directly and I already made a Call for Participation, in case you want to influence which direction the project goes from now on. There are also experimental executables to render Arnold and Blender scenes directly:

  1. Issue to keep track of the Arnold parser
  2. Issue to keep track of the Blender parser

I think I will abandon the approach to render both scene descriptions mentioned above, and concentrate on an USD workflow, which allows to create scenes in any application which supports it. But feel free to contribute and keep working on one of those approaches if you feel that would be something interesting for you ...

This was about the future plans. There is still much to do for a 1.0 release to be 100% compatible to the C++ code. Your contributions would be welcome, even in identifying missing features, or finding bugs (which Rust allowed me to find in the C++ code, e.g. here). And ... there is still performance tweaking ...
