Reuse an Apache license

Is it possible to reuse an Apache opensource license in adding his name as new author?

Description

Hello, I am working (rebase) on an open source project under the Apache license and the author added his name on the license file.

The original project was to build a simple and small application. But I projected add more feature and build a fully one.

I want reuse this Apache license and I want know if I can add my name in the license file.
eg.
original_project_name original_author @2023
new_project_name me @2024

Otherwise, how can I do?

If you create new files, you can add your own copyright notice to those files, as you are the author of those new works. If you make significant changes to existing files, you can add your name alongside the original author’s name to indicate your contribution. Instead, you can add a NOTICE file to the project where you can include information about your modifications and your name.
