Request for Advice on Data Structures and Algorithms Project

I am currently a university student enrolled in a Data Structures and Algorithms course. Recently, our professor assigned us a project that involves designing a software application.

While I understand the basics of data structures like arrays, linked lists, trees, and graphs, as well as algorithms like sorting and searching,.

I am reaching out to ask for advice or suggestions regarding:

Project Scope and Focus: data structures used in information security

  • password protection and hash algorithm
  • cache system for accelerating speed of accessing
  • access control and log system
  • communication protocol

i wanna do this using rust ,also to practice such a powerful language
but i find it is hard for me to decide what to do and i have no idea for how to get started on it
