Is there a change that has removed mailing list mode?
Not as far as I know. Are you having trouble receiving mail from the forum, or replying, or creating new posts?
It really does seem like mailing list mode got disabled on this particular forum. Here's what the preferences area looks like on URLO:

Found the setting and reenabled it.
