Looking for speakers in bioinformatics at FOSDEM 2026

Hi,

We would like to create a space at next year FOSDEM for bioinformatics. So if you are making cool things in Rust that are FOSS and related to bioinformatics, let me know !
We are looking for speakers to make a proposal, So if there are enough people, it may be accepted :slight_smile:

Rust has potential for bioinformatics looking at toolks like zaleus' noodles or PacBioo tools.

I'm happy to answer any questions (except for the date that isn't fixed yet) !

Our dev room is accepted ! You can submit your talks now (see Call for Participation: 1st Bioinformatics and Computational Biology Developer Room at FOSDEM 2026 | fosdem-bioinformatics ). Our criteria are rather loose: as long as it deals with bioinformatics and is open-source, we'll consider adding it to the schedule.

It will happen on January, 31st (Saturday afternoon).
