The Global Alliance for Genomics and Health (GA4GH) , is looking for contributors who would like to build its Rust (De)Serialization of Bioinformatic formats , a.k.a
BioSerDe and get paid for it under the Google Summer of Code (GSoC) program.
Here's the "body" of our proposal with some references to read up on in order to grasp the idea(s):
And here's an initial qualifying task, should you take this mission:
The Google Summer of Code is open to open source contributors that, once accepted, will work on projects which are supposed to take between 175 and 350 hours over a 10-week coding period in June, July and August. If they successfully complete it, Google will pay them a stipend ranging from USD 1500 to USD 3300 depending on where they live. More information on the program is at its official site: https://summerofcode.withgoogle.com/
Please consider applying whether you are a student or not (this year's GSoC is open to everybody, not just students!). We will be also very grateful if you can help us to spread the word about this opportunity so that it reaches more potential participants.
If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to GA4GH community by posting an email to our mailing list firstname.lastname@example.org. If you prefer to ask just me, I’ll also be glad to answer any questions sent to email@example.com, also @braincode on Twitter and @brainstorm on GitHub.
