Irc.mozilla.org vs Freenode

Hey,

Is there any good (non-political) reason to keep the main IRC channels on irc.mozilla.org? People are being walled out of irc.mozilla.org, probably wherever they are using shared hosting:

12:16 [mozilla] -!- ERROR Closing link: (unknown@91.232.154.72) [Too many connections from your IP (local class). If you have a Mozilla LDAP account, you can get a temporary exemption here: https://iplimit.irc.mozilla.org/]

Freenode has no such limits.

Would political reasons be less valuable?

Thanks for raising the issue, let's see what we can do about that. Maybe @edunham has insight?

Also, it seems that you can just ask for an ip to have a raised userlimit: 759542 - irc.mozilla.org - Too many connections from your IP.
