A very quick question for someone who's onyl been using IntelliJ for a couple weeks.
2017.3 version for intelliJ community is available now, so my IDE tells me. There doesn't seem to be a way to download it through the IDE, I had to download the .dmg. If I drop it in my applications folder and "replace" my older intelliJ, will all my settings still be there like : The rust plugin 
and any other more minor things I've set up?

On a mac, your intellij settings are in the hidden Library folder, not in the app bundle.

You can also try the toolbox app: JetBrains Toolbox App: Manage Your Tools with Ease
It's sort of like rustup for JetBrains IDEs
