In RFC : Try-Catch Blocks , someone expressed concern over the discoverability of crates. To improve this situation, I suggested to have a "Crate of the Week" similar to TWIR's "Quote of the Week". To jump-start this, I'm hereby asking you folks for nominations. We seek crates that are useful, unsun…

I'd like to nominate ratiform , a form library for Ratatui. It provides reusable form widgets with validation, focus handling, and keyboard interaction, making it easier to build interactive forms in terminal UIs. Self-nomination — I'd love to get more feedback from the Rust/Ratatui community!

Self-nomination: dev-prune My disk kept filling up, and the culprit was node_modules and .venv directories in repos I hadn't opened in months. So I built dev-prune, a cleaner for idle Git repositories that deletes those only when it can prove the lockfile can rebuild them. The rule that ended up s…

I'd like to nominate ego-tree . It's a simple, Vec-based tree structure that supports all the tree functions one could possibly need -- ancestor/child iteration, siblings, orphanage, etc. I've found it to be very useful and it is now my go-to for whenever a tree structure is required.

I'd like to self-nominate termlens which is a headless integration testing for terminal applications. termlens runs your compiled CLI or TUI in a real pseudo-terminal, sends input, and lets tests wait on and snapshot the emulated screen including text, styles, cursor position and alternate screen s…

I'd like to self-nominate simple_equation_inversion . Define an equation once, solve it for any variable — fully no_std. #[equation("force = mass * acceleration")] struct NewtonSecondLaw; let acceleration = NewtonSecondLaw::new() .force(20.0) .mass(4.0) .solve() .unwrap(); It also…

Self-nomination: remoc , an RPC library in which channels are ordinary values. All RPC calls over Remoc can take or return Tokio-style mpsc, oneshot, watch or broadcast remote channels, which keep working after the call has returned. Channels can transport anything, including other channels and RPC…

I'd like to self-nominate datadiff , a CLI that diffs JSON, YAML, CSV, TOML and XML by their parsed data instead of by lines. It registers as a git diff driver, so git diff on a reformatted Kubernetes manifest prints ~ spec.replicas: 3 → 5 instead of a wall of moved lines. Arrays of objects can be m…

I want to self-nominate fastlogging-rs , a lightning fast logger which supports 8 different programming languages. A special feature is the cross process log forwarding support, where a child process can forward it's logs to the parent process.

self-nominate scrcap . A screen/audio capture crate for Windows/Linux/macOS.

State-of-the-art JPEG encoder that combines compression advancements from MozJPEG, jpegli and others. It generates files that are fully compatible with the old JPEG standard, but smaller and higher-quality than from a reference JPEG encoder.
