Collab GUI+games+4d+

If this is bad, mods feel free to delete. I am currently working on a GUI with bidirectional allowance which may be used in 3d like VR in Rust with other stuff like smart TV or VR inputs allowance. The GUI may be open source later. I make 4 dimensional or more games, if we work together you can get a cut of those profits, asking to collaborate on some Rust stuff. I don't exactly have money to pay for job stuff but revenue share why not? The GUI stuff uses cosmic-text+lyon-tesselation, it should fit to rectangles for 3d like signage. Also planning different geometries of space like spherical, hyperboloid, euclidean, and others. I can probably do it myself but still. Planning for about all Rust can do in platforms including the weird ones and Argos Translate is free with 50+ human languages. I also had plans for a social media built in Rust. Who knows, maybe 3d text like extruded or an engine later. maybejosiah@aol.com is my email in case I am not here.

If you're looking to hire someone you will need to explain:

  • What are the required qualifications for the position
  • What work they will be performing as part of the position
  • What they will receive in exchange for their work

You've been vague on all three points and so are unlikely to get much interest. Also profit-share as payment is typically not going to be acceptable; if you don't have the money to pay someone then your first step should be looking for some (possibly via a loan or outside investment).

Thank you for this, required qualifications, basically can write Rust to bullet 1. Bullet 2, working on various projects as above, probably just GUI work at this point but once that is done, working on games in Rust. Bullet 3, revenue share of whatever comes of it. This is more unofficial. Have I adequately answered? X E.

Okay, so profit share is not normally acceptable, got it, sorry I even asked. X E.

Should I just delete this?

Actually, releasing a game soon, if that goes well this might be like a normal job, but honestly, just want to collaborate with someone. Bad idea, right? Of course, name what you want or what would be acceptable. X E.

There's nothing wrong with wanting help on a project. Most people are already busy with something, though, and need to be given a reason to help you (money/you're a friend/it's a fun open source project/etc.). You led your post by talking about money, so that's the way most people will take it.

Okay. I don't think I'm a friend applies to anyone who knows Rust yet. I guess for reasons to help, just making Rust odd device friendly for everyone, not exactly fun so far in my experience, but it will make some great stuff later. There is no natively 3d GUI in Rust now as far as I know so with VR you will have some troubles with the 1.5 meter away GUI things. Egui can be rendered to a texture though and that is about what gets done mostly. For now, it is a cool open-source project. For later, the games are all novel concepts that have never been done before. Thanks for talking. I already have smart TV stuff and gradient text (another hard to do thing) in Rust. X E.

Things I plan to open source:

  1. natively 3d triangulated GUI library with features allowing any type of input e.g. TV remote, gamepad, the normal stuff
  2. an example for having Rust on VR, smart TV, mobile including Linux mobile, all supported desktops, and maybe Raspberry Pi with that GUI
  3. Most of the shaders of the games.

Some platforms overlap like Android is smart TV/VR/phone (ChromeOS?) in the same target. Things that are not open source will be the games. For now, just open-source work. I consider it cool but somewhat boring work. If you want money later, I can do game revenue share but that is it. Sorry if I broke any rules or advertised here. X E.

I know I will need random Linux mobile testing for bringing up software keyboards through the desktop environment, I have two Linux mobiles, Ubuntu Touch and SailfishOS, but it could use more testing, anyone?
