Announcing the gltf crate


This post is aimed towards the Rust game development community.

gltf is a crate for loading OpenGL Transmission Format version 2.0 (glTF), an open standard for the efficient runtime transmission of 3D scenes and models.

gltf and its sister crates gltf-utils and gltf-importer aim to provide rustic utilities that make working with glTF simple, safe, and intuitive.

The crate API is quite stable. Criticism and suggestions would be appreciated as the next version is planned to be 1.0. For example usage, see the gltf-viewer crate (WIP) and keep an eye out for glTF support in three-rs.
